What is left

Optional: cross-tabulations of the investor streams beyond those taken (e.g. citizenship by sex, citizenship by intended state, age by sex) could be derived from the pivot cache; the workbook prints none of them, so whether to derive more is a choice, not a gap in printed figures. Not extractable: 10 sums that come out negative because the workbook data is masked (held in research files/extract-cbi-aus1-pivot-negative.pending); METHODOLOGY method rule 3 forbids publishing a negative count, and the true value cannot be recovered from masked data.

What the document holds

Home Affairs BP0068 workbook: Migration Program (and Child) outcomes 2015-16 to 2024-25 as a pivot table over a 622,425-record cache with fields programme year, visa program/category/type/sub-type/subclass, citizenship country, gender, applicant type, age group, client location, occupation (five levels) and intended residence. The visible sheet shows only Migration Program totals by category (Family, Skilled, Special Eligibility, Child), which are out of scope. In scope: the Business Innovation and Investment visa type and its streams, and the legacy investor subclasses 165 and 893. Extracted (by summing the pivot cache with the filters named in each location, as the earlier rows do): for the Significant Investor, Significant Investor Extension, Investor and Premium Investor streams, subclasses 165 and 893, and the BIIP visa type as a whole, every year with records: total, primary, secondary, by citizenship country (all, primary, secondary), by gender, by intended state, by age group, by client location and by visa subclass; for the other BIIP sub-types (Business Innovation, Business Innovation Extension, Entrepreneur, Significant Business History, Venture Capital Entrepreneur, Business Skills, State/Territory Sponsored Business Skills): total, primary and secondary per year. Stream (sub-type) detail exists only from 2017-18; 2015-16 and 2016-17 BIIP grants sit under Business Skills sub-types. Every split adds up to its total (checked). Sums below 5 are stored as ranges 0-4 because the data is masked (decision 3); 10 sums that come out negative are held back. Zero cells are not recorded. Four 188 records under Global Talent (Independent) in 2021-22 are outside the BIIP visa type and not taken. Occupation is "Not Specified" for all investor-stream primaries (not extracted). This pass (extract-partials-p4-2026-10-11) re-checked the scope: the other BIIP sub-types (Business Innovation, its extension, Entrepreneur, Significant Business History, Venture Capital Entrepreneur, Business Skills) rest on running or funding a business, not a personal minimum investment, so only their totals (already in) are kept as context (decision 15); no rows added.

About the document

What it covers Migration Program outcome by year, visa sub-type (stream), citizenship country and applicant type (primary/secondary), 2015-16 to 2024-25. Stream (sub-type) detail for BIIP visas is populated from 2017-18 only.

Notes Excel pivot table; the stream and nationality figures exist only in the pivot cache, so they are not visible in the sheet as saved and the quote verifier cannot find them. To reproduce, open in Excel and set the filters named in each row's location. Workbook says data are drawn from live systems and may differ from other reports; file name says "masked". Yearly stream totals match the Migration Program reports exactly (e.g. Significant Investor 1,288 in 2020-21). Masked data: record values are perturbed for privacy, so small sums are unreliable; derived values below 5 are stored as the range 0-4 and 10 negative sums are held back (METHODOLOGY.md decision 3).
