Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons, consolidated version of 20/03/2015 (English)

Consolidated English text (20 Mar 2015) of Georgia's Law on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons (No 2045 of 5 Mar 2014): visas (categories, D1-D3 immigration visas, deadlines), residence permit types incl. the investment residence permit for at least GEL 300,000 (art. 15(h)), validity (art. 16(3): investment permit carries the right of permanent residence), procedure, removal, stateless persons, fees (art. 70 refers to other laws; no amounts), transitional provisions. No property-owner permit yet (added by Law 3602 of May 2015). Art. 74 prints entry into force as 1 January 2014, which the programme notes treat as a translation error (other texts give 1 Sep 2014); not recorded as an event. Other numbers (bail, removal periods, general 6-year permanent residence) are general immigration law, out of scope. This pass added 2 rules: GEL 300,000 investment threshold (restated) and the 30-day decision period for residence permit applications.
