Isle of Man Immigration Rules (consolidated, December 2009)

Isle of Man Immigration Rules consolidated to December 2009 (199 pp.): general provisions, all entry categories, the points-based system (Tier 1 General, Entrepreneur, Investor; Tiers 2, 4, 5), family and dependant routes, deportation, and Appendices A-F. In scope: the Tier 1 (Investor) route (paras 245O-245U; Appendix A paras 42-50, Tables 7-8), points-based dependants as they apply to investors (paras 319A-319J) and the former investor category (paras 224-231; Appendix F as at 1 Dec 2009). Earlier pass: the Table 7 GBP 1 million entry threshold and a context event. This pass added 22 rules: the Table 7 alternative (assets over GBP 2 million plus GBP 1 million loaned), the Table 8 extension amounts (GBP 1 million, GBP 2 million assets, GBP 750,000 invested within 3 months), entry clearance 3 years, leave to remain 2 or 3 years, settlement after 5 years with language exemptions under 18 and 65+, the 12-month sponsor rule, dependants (children under 18, partners 2 years together), and the former investor category (GBP 1 million / GBP 2 million assets, GBP 750,000 incl. one-year deposits, leave up to 2 years, extensions up to 3, settlement after 5 years). Out of scope and not recorded: the other categories and general rules (not specific to the investor route); maintenance-fund amounts (investors are exempt).
