What the document holds

Written text of oral reply no. 27 (4 Oct 2021, answered with no. 41) by the Home Minister on the revised MM2H: reactivation with applications handled by the Immigration Department from October 2021; nine new conditions (90 days' stay a year, offshore income RM40,000 a month instead of RM10,000, fixed deposit RM1 million with 50% withdrawal, age groups 35-49 and 50+ with RM50,000 extra deposit per dependant for the younger group, 5-year pass instead of 10, liquid assets RM1.5 million, pass fee RM500 a year instead of RM90, processing fee RM5,000 plus RM2,500 per dependant, security screening, good-conduct letter); policy changes (cap of 1% of Malaysian citizens, no low-skilled or security-sector applicants, monitoring, online system); 1-year conditional extension for existing participants; reasons, including the Auditor-General's report of 6 Oct 2020. Fixed deposit, income, liquid assets and fee terms and the announcement event were already in the data; stay, age, withdrawal, pass validity, cap and extension terms are added. The RM50,000 per dependant is already in the applies_to of the existing RM1 million fixed-deposit term. Rules restated from other sources are now recorded from this document too (decision 8).
