Competition Council news release (28 Jun 2019) on approving its whistleblower remuneration procedure: rewards from 1 July 2019; 1% of fines, EUR 1,000-100,000; channels (e-mail, post, in person) and prior consultations; identity withheld from the parties on request; decision within 20 days of the official disclosure of the infringement; information must come before the decision to open an investigation and be lawfully obtained (else repayable); staff of a leniency applicant and officials with access through their duties excluded; paid from the authority's budget; cartel fines up to 10% of gross annual income and manager disqualification for 3-5 years plus a EUR 14,481 fine (out of scope).
