What the document holds
Mauritius Citizenship (Amendment) Act 1995 (scanned gazette pages, read by OCR; the pages also carry the Constitution (Amendment) Act 1995 and the start of the Secondary Schools Trust Fund Act 1995, not in scope). In scope: s. 5 new s. 9(3), 2 years' residence instead of the normal requirement for a person who invested at least MUR 3 million (amount and event already in data; residence period added). Also: registration of spouses after 4 years' cohabitation, resumption of citizenship from 1 May 1995 (not investment routes). Commencement by Proclamation (s. 8): the existing launch event uses the assent date 23 Aug 1995. Rules restated from other sources are now recorded from this document too (decision 8).
